  • Connection With Percussion

Mentoring Through Music connects and inspires young people through a dynamic musical experience. In this group mentorship program preteens are brought together to form a drum corps team which encourages them to learn leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Mentor guided group activities help teens to learn positive coping strategies to deal with life’s challenges. Through an exciting drum corps experience teens develop positive self-esteem, future focused and goal oriented thinking, and a sense of belonging in an uplifting community.

  • The Mentorship Experience

“The consistent, enduring presence of a caring adult in a young person’s life can be the difference between staying in school or dropping out, making healthy decisions or engaging in risky behaviors, and realizing one’s potential or failing to achieve one’s dreams. Mentors can make a profound difference in the lives of their mentees—and in turn, strengthen our communities, economy, and country.” ~ The Mentoring Effect: Young People’s Perspectives on the Outcomes and Availability of Mentoring

“A mentor is someone who allows you to see the hope inside yourself.” ~Oprah Winfrey
